Tank Level Measurement
Electronic design for remote measurement of liquid level in tank systems
The Sensor
In this project, it was decided that the liquid level in the tank system should be determined by a differential pressure measurement. A robust pressure gauge was constructed, This gauge is submerged to the bottom of the tank. ECT is involved in both the mechanical design and the sensor technology used for pressure measurement.
Electronic Design
The Tank Level Gauge can be placed in the open landscape without any electrical connection to anything. The electronic design is suitable for battery operation. The built-in microcomputer performs continuous fluid level measurements and compensates for the shape of the tank and the fluid density. At programmed intervals, the electronic design makes calls via the GSM mobile telephone network and reports the liquid level in the tank to a database.

Encapsulation
ECT designed the enclosure that protects electronics from the environmental conditions. 3D cad software was used to quickly outline possible designs, and the in-house 3D printer quickly produced the first prototypes. The robust enclosure enables the customer to install liquid level measurement on tank plants even in difficult climatic conditions
